Many of our families are affected by the current government shutdown. We understand about the hardships and struggles to make ends meet and to ensure food is on the table for our families. If the shutdown continues into November, those that receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will not be issued any more benefits until the federal government reopens. We want to ensure that all families have their basic needs met, especially food.
Therefore as Lincoln School 'Ohana, we humbly ask for your kokua. Starting November 3rd, we will be collecting canned food items for our temporary food pantry. These canned food items will be available for our families in need. If and when the federal government reopens, the remaining canned food items will be donated to the Hawai'i Foodbank.
If you would like to donate, please send all canned food items to the office. If you are in need of assistance, please inform the office ASAP! You kokua and generosity is truly appreciated!
Malalo for your support!!
